Meet Luke McGill (age 10)

Luke McGill had never been inside a classroom at just ten years old. School had remained a faraway dream since moving to Monrovia from the village last year. His aunt says she cannot afford to send him to school, and we suspect she may have given up on his education due to his age, not wanting to face the challenges of starting him in school at ten. Each day, as he watched other children gather their books and head off to school, he felt a growing longing and isolation. The laughter and chatter of those children seemed like a distant echo, amplifying the silence of his solitary life. The only chance he has to connect with other children is through the children's ministry at the church, which he cherishes deeply.

We cannot give up on Luke because God has not given up on us.
