Meet Confidence Beah (Age 12)

Confidence Beah lives in Outland Community, a suburb in Paynesville, with her mother and younger siblings. Her mother, who she helps to sell cooked food to support the family, is visibly worn down by their financial struggles. While her mother works tirelessly, Confidence is between home caring for her siblings and helping her mother in the street, feeling the weight of their hardships and the quiet despair enveloping their daily lives.
