Meet Romeo Larwo (Age 13)

Romeo Larwo is a devoted young boy who rarely misses a church service despite significant vision problems. His parents, burdened by caring for many children, see little value in investing in his education and believe that nothing good will come from it. As a result, Romeo drops out of school, and their belief in his future success is extinguished.

The church, recognizing his need, once provided him with a pair of reading glasses, but since he is often left to fend for himself, the glasses soon broke. Romeo is frequently tasked with errands, like going to the market, even though he has other siblings who could help. His father once told him that he needed to earn money to buy slippers for himself, but the church bought him a pair. Romeo’s story is profoundly heartbreaking; if you were to hear the complete account of his struggles, it would be a challenge to hold back your tears.
